Undertaking a proper research before moving can save you a lot of headache. Many people just conduct research before relocating. You must answer questions like: If there are good educational institutions in the vicinity? In case you have school-going children? What is the weather like? Are there good shopping places for groceries, clothes etc., how close are the emergency services from my house? Where are the doctors and hospitals located? One good alternative is to hire an apartment for some months before shifting in it for good, along with your family

But following these tips will help you move effectively to a new place.

• Analyze the cost: This is the most important factor that you have to consider. The area you are moving to may be more expensive than your current one. Besides the real estate prices, you should also look at other expenses like telephone costs, transportation costs etc. If these costs are substantially higher, you should talk about it with your employer.
• Visit the new location: Once you have carefully thought about the financial aspect of relocating and are agreeable to it, the next step is to actually visit the place. This gives you information about the living conditions in the area. You can open bank account; find out the local hospitals, medical stores, shopping centres etc. This will help you once you move into the area.
• Select proper school for your children: It is important to find new schools that are appropriate for your children. It is better you take your children with you; this will help your child in selecting a school that is right for him. We have to make sure that the children have school bus pick up services & the place is easily reachable by the children & parents even if the buses do not function in that area .Even children have to get use to the environment, it is very important for the children to find good friends & a good play ground so that can play & enjoy after school.
• Find a good child care centre for your younger child: If you have a young child and you and your spouse plan to work, it is essential that you find a good child care centre for your child. It should be within your reach so it convenient for both the parents as well as the children.
